On the afternoon of March 17, Shen Yang, Director of the State Key Laboratory at Tsinghua University, along with Deputy Director Wang Chang’an and Dr. Cui Wei, Ding Yuqing, Executive Director and General Manager of Shanghai Electric Jiyou Chen Hui, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Electric Jiyou Wang Minghao, Secretary of the Rugao Municipal Party Committee, Wang Chunhua, a member of the Rugao Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee, and Zhang Xinyue, Executive General Manager of Jianxin Equity, led a delegation to visit Lixing Group for inspection and guidance.

Group President Shi Bo warmly welcomed the visiting guests. The parties engaged in in-depth, pragmatic discussions on advancing the development of a industry–university–research platform for ceramic materials, deepening collaboration across the upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain, and implementing Shanghai Electric’s strategic plan for building an optimized industrial-chain ecosystem.

Government-Enterprise Collaboration to Build an Innovative Ecosystem

During the exchange, Wang Minghao, Secretary of the Rugao Municipal Party Committee, outlined Rugao’s industrial foundation and its strengths in science and technology innovation, highlighting its status as one of China’s top 100 counties and a key nodal city on the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta.

He stated that Rugao has a solid industrial foundation in power equipment, automotive components, shipbuilding, chemicals, and other sectors, and has been recognized by the Ministry of Science and Technology as a pilot city for innovation. The city is home to nearly 900 high-tech enterprises, fostering a robust culture of scientific and technological innovation. The Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government will continue to optimize the business environment, support traditional manufacturing enterprises like Lixing in revitalizing themselves through technological innovation, and help build Rugao into a premier hub for high-end manufacturing.

Tsinghua National Key Laboratory: Technology-Driven, Co-built Platform

Shen Yang, Director of the State Key Laboratory at Tsinghua University, outlined the laboratory’s extensive research experience and talent pool in the field of structural ceramics.

He stated that the laboratory is home to numerous academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and boasts extensive experience in translating basic research into industrial applications. Looking ahead, the laboratory will leverage policy support to proactively explore joint initiatives with local governments and leading enterprises such as Lixing to co-establish research hubs, seamlessly integrate upstream and downstream segments of the industrial value chain, precisely align with market demands, and establish a collaborative innovation model characterized by “government guidance, enterprise leadership, and technological support.”

Industrial Collaboration, Ecosystem Co-creation

Ding Yuqing, Executive Director and General Manager of Shanghai Electric Jiyou, stated that Shanghai Electric is accelerating its strategic expansion into emerging sectors such as new energy and intelligent manufacturing, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with Lixing in the development of critical components for high-end equipment.

Focusing on Cutting-Edge Tracks and Discussing Industry Opportunities

Shi Bo, President of Lixing Group, outlined the company’s latest R&D advancements and industrial deployment in the field of precision manufacturing. He noted that, driven by the rapid growth of emerging sectors such as new-energy vehicles and humanoid robots, market demand for ceramic structural components, ceramic ball bearings, and rolling elements continues to surge. In response, Lixing Group is proactively investing in related technology R&D to secure a leading position in the industry.

Zhang Xinyue, Executive General Manager of Equity at China Construction Bank Investment, pointed out that investment in the new materials sector is currently gaining increasing momentum, particularly driven by end-demand in areas such as new-energy vehicles and humanoid robotics, which has created a favorable window for the development of high-performance materials like ceramic balls. He recommended that all stakeholders advance cooperation in a phased manner, focusing on technology transfer, supply-chain coordination, and product commercialization, while exploring the establishment of foundational R&D centers or joint laboratories to promote deep integration among technology, capital, and industry.

Pooling our strengths to move forward and jointly chart a blueprint for development.

During this round of talks, the participating parties reached a consensus on deepening industry–university–research collaborative innovation and promoting cooperation across the upstream and downstream segments of the industrial chain, thereby clarifying the direction for subsequent coordination.

Lixing Group will take this exchange as an opportunity to align closely with market demands, deepen collaborative partnerships with leading research institutions and industry leaders, and pragmatically advance the commercialization of technological innovations and their integration into industrial applications, thereby contributing the “Lixing Power” to the high-quality development of China’s high-end manufacturing sector.
